one hackintosh setting: msi b360, gtx 1080
hardware spec
- msi b360 arctic
- i7-8700
- gtx 1080
basic
- we want to use nvidia GPU, so no mojave, stick with high sierra
- make bootable usb with unibeast: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/unibeast-install-macos-high-sierra-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.235474/
- tip: you can replace the EFI folder of the USB with the better one before installing
nvidia web drive
- check config.plist setting with clover configurator:
check
System Parameters - NvidiaWeb
, or your nvida web driver would stick with default macos driver instead of the Nvida one after every reboot! - get nvidia web driver with correct version:
even small path version matters! like
10.13.6 (17G7024)
https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/324195-nvidia-web-driver-updates-for-macos-high-sierra-update-may-15-2019/
TODO
- fix audio
Uncheck
- sleep & wake
So far so good
- shutdown
- video
- no lag
caveats
-
use the correct version of web driver! 10.13.6 (17G7024) & WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.128.pkg if the mac os x version is not meet, try to upgrade. I upgraded from 17G66 to 17G7024 through app store upgrade.
-
you are upgrade security path through app store for hackintosh!
- download and promopt reboot (about 2GB in my case)
- auto reboot, choose
install mac os from your <BOOT DISK>
- auto reboot, the
install mac os from <BOOT DISK>
disapper, just normally boot fromboot mac os from <BOOT DISK>
- boom! new path version! in my case 17G66 -> 17g7024
